Whether or not you work with one yourself, you may find the role of financial advisors to be kind of mysterious. A few key functions may stand out – rolling over your 401(k), doing the math on your retirement needs, maybe helping with a home purchase or sale of a business.
Even with those examples, however, the picture is still hazy. That is not a problem for some, but others (myself included) like to know how the sausage gets made. So for those of you in the latter group, below is a breakdown of the tasks we commonly tackle at WFG.
It is not exhaustive, nor does everything on it apply to every client. But it gives a good overall picture of what a financial planner can offer. If nothing else, I think you will find it more useful than yet another inflation update.
